For the 2023-24 Autumn Semester Double Major Application, you need to fill in the Double Major Application form under the Documents menu in OBIS.
Applications made via e-mail and by hand will not be accepted.


No changes will be made to the Double Major preferences. The order of preference is important in Double Major applications, placement will be made according to the order of preference. If students enrolled in the double major program fail to meet the double major requirements of the IGU Double Major Directive in the semesters they continue, their Double Major registration will be cancelled.


You do not need to request any other documents during the application.


Students can prefer at most two Double Major programmes during their application. They are placed in a Double Major programme according to the order of preference.
 
More than one Double Major cannot be done at the same time. However, a Double Major and Minor can be done at the same time.
 
Students must also pass the special talent exam for admission to the Double Major diploma programme that accepts students with a special talent exam.

Students without a YKS score will not be able to apply for Double Major in programmes for which performance ranking is required.

The admission of students to the Double Major diploma programme is completed with the recommendation of the head of department/programme and the decision of the relevant board of directors. The final registrations of the students accepted to the Double Major programme are made by the Directorate of Student Affairs.

A student enrolled in a Double Major diploma programme may transfer to a Double Major diploma programme if he/she meets the conditions for internal transfer in the Major diploma programme.
The quota for Double Major students is determined by the university senate, provided that the overall weighted grade point average in the Major diploma programme is at least 70 out of 100 (2.72/4.00) and the success ranking in the relevant class of the Major diploma programme is not less than 20%.

Application Requirements for Double Major Programme
 
Students can apply to the Double Major diploma programme at the beginning of the third semester at the earliest, at the beginning of the fifth semester in four-year programmes, at the beginning of the seventh semester in five-year programmes and at the beginning of the ninth semester in six-year programmes at latest. In associate degree programmes, the student can apply at the beginning of the third semester at the earliest.
 
Students who have a cumulative grade point average of at least 70 out of 100 (2.72/4.00) in the Major diploma programme at the time of application to the Double Major and who are in the top 20% of the success ranking in the relevant class of the Major diploma programme can apply to the second Major diploma programme.
 
Students who have a GPA of at least 70 out of 100 (2.72/4.00) in their Major diploma programme, but who are not in the top 20% of the relevant class of the Major diploma programme in terms of success ranking, can also apply to the Double Major programme with a score not less than the base score of the programme to be Double Majored in the relevant year.
 
Students who wish to Double Major in programmes that require the requirement of success ranking must have met the success ranking requirement determined by the Council of Higher Education for the relevant programme in the year of enrollment in addition to the other requirements specified in this Directive.
Double Major applications cannot be made between programmes with the same name that are taught in Turkish and programmes that are taught in English. Only transfer applications can be made between these programmes.
 
In case the student applies to a programme that is fully or partially taught in a foreign language, he/she must obtain a score of at least 70 out of 100 points from the foreign language proficiency exam conducted by the School of Foreign Languages or an equivalent score from national/international exams accepted as equivalent by the Senate.
 
In order to apply for a double major, a student enrolled by transfer must have completed at least one semester in the undergraduate/graduate programme in which he/she is enrolled. However, a vertical transfer student cannot apply for a Double Major.
 
THINGS TO TAKE INTO CONSIDERATION FOR THE REGISTRATION OF OUR PROGRAMMES THAT REQUIRE SPECIAL CONDITIONS:
 
CIVIL AVIATION CABIN SERVICES (associate degree) education qualifications required to be able to perform the profession:
1) No previous convictions or criminal record.
2) A height between 160 cm and 180 cm for women (a maximum of 5 kg more or 15 kg less than the last two digits of the height value expressed in centimetres).
3) Height between 170 and 190 cm for men (5 kg more or 15 kg less than the last two digits of your height in centimetres).
4) Obtaining a medical report stating that he/she is fit to fly as a result of an examination carried out at aeromedical centres authorised by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation.

5) No tattoos, scars, etc. on parts of the body that will be visible when wearing the cabin crew uniform.
 
AVIATION MANAGEMENT (bachelor's degree), CIVIL AIR TRANSPORTATION MANAGEMENT (associate degree) qualifications required to be able to perform the profession:
1) Not having any Criminal Record or Criminal Record Archive record that will prevent him/her from obtaining an airport entrance card.
2) Obtaining a committee report (hearing loss / deficiency, vision loss / deficiency, etc.) from a full-fledged hospital within the last 6 months that there is no health problem that will prevent him / her from performing the profession and / or the duty assigned in the profession.
